ESSEX LADIES’ COUNTY GOLF ASSOCIATION

Hunter Foursomes 2018 Rules

This competition is designed to give girls an opportunity to be involved in a match play competition with the advice and help of an experienced partner.

The pairs consist of an adult lady and junior lady member of the same club.  The adult should be 25 years or over.  The junior must be under 18 on the first of January 2018.

The maximum CONGU Competition handicap for the adult is 24 and for the junior, 36.

The closing date for entering the competition is 25th January 2018.

Clubs may enter any number of pairs.

Each round is drawn as soon as possible after the completion of the previous round.  The first pair drawn plays at home.  The games are played to a completion.  Shots are given on the basis of half the difference between aggregate handicaps of each side.

The draw will be published on the website (www.essexladiesgolf.org).  The Hunter Foursomes Organiser will notify all players of all rounds by email. The home players should contact their opponent as soon as possible to arrange a date for the match.  If no contact has been made after a few days, the away players should telephone their opponents with some dates.  It is a joint responsibility of both sides to arrange a date for the match.  The home pair should advise the Hunter Foursomes organiser of the arranged date.

If the players can only find a date on which all players can play when the home course is not available, the Hunter Foursomes Organiser may rule that the match should be played at the away pair’s course.

No extensions will be granted.

The winners should email the Hunter Foursomes Organiser, as soon as possible after the match has been played to inform her of the result.

Players should always have their handicap certificates available to show to their opponents.

No caddies are allowed in this competition.

Use of Distance Measuring Devices (DMDs) is permitted.  Please note mobile phone DMD applications are not permitted.

The semi-finals will be played on neutral courses.  A period of at least 4 weeks will be given for the semi-finals to be played.  Pairs A v B will play at C or D’s Club; Pairs C v D will play at A or B’s Club.  All entrants must be confident their course will be made available for the semi-finals.

The final will be played on a neutral course on 14th October 2018 – all competitors should note this date and keep it free until they are knocked out of the competition.
